Overview
Melns Nezvērs is my independent creative practice, where I combine professional design work with self-initiated craft, experimental projects, and web design / website building.
Within Melns Nezvērs, I work across concept development, graphic design, and hands-on making—often involving physical formats, paper mechanics, and print-based storytelling. The practice lets me build complete products and experiences end-to-end: from idea and visual identity to production, distribution, and communication.
A central project of this practice was the creation of the Latvian Calendar with Solar System, an original design object that merged Latvian cultural references with astronomical themes. I developed the concept, visual identity, and physical design, and brought the product to market through an online store as well as local craft markets and events. The project received a Silver ADwards (2014) for design excellence and craftsmanship.
Alongside print and product work, I also design and build websites—creating clear structures, strong visual systems, and practical, maintainable pages that support real-world needs (content, navigation, performance, and launch).
